Put Lykke to work in a few minutes.
Setup looks long on paper, but each step builds on the one before. Here is the whole walkthrough, with pictures.
- 01
Start on Explore — no login required
Explore lists free ready-made courses for college students and for AP.
- Courses come with simulations, flashcards and quizzes. AP Biology, AP Calculus AB, AP Physics 1 and AP Statistics also have exam-style free-response questions with model answers.
- Read the first two sections of any course without an account. A free account opens the rest and lets you save courses.
- Lykke's own courses sit next to courses other people have built and shared publicly.

Sign up to customize — and sync Canvas
A free Scholar account lets you save courses, build your own and connect Canvas.
- You start with 5,000 launch credits for making flashcards, quizzes, study guides and infographics from your own notes and files.
- Build a course from links, PDFs or a YouTube video, and paste your syllabus if you want the outline to follow it. Lykke drafts the outline, gives you 15 min to change it, then writes the sections with quizzes and flashcards.
- Most importantly: install the Lykke Knowledge Companion Chrome extension, sign in to Lykke in it and press Sync now — it syncs your chosen Canvas courses, schedule and due dates, then refreshes when you open Canvas. Files and the class list you sync are shared with other Lykke students in that Canvas class, including anyone who audits it.

Capture notes on the web, iPhone and iPad
Write notes wherever you are, and keep each one with its class.
- Type a note in the web app or the iPhone and iPad app, or record a lecture and watch the transcript appear.
- In the app you can also draw in a note, and the drawing shows on the web.
- Tag a note to its class, or write it from the class's study page, and it sits next to that class's files.

Bring your textbooks and documents into Drive
Drive holds your files, in a folder for each class.
- Upload textbooks, slides, past papers and problem sets to a class's folder, or drag them onto it. Files can be up to 40 MB each.
- Canvas files arrive already filed in their class's folder.
- Find files by name or class, and use any of them as a source on the class's study page.

Study from your own material on the study page
Open a course on the study page and its material sits in one place, with a chat and study tools beside it.
- Left: the course's sources. That's its files and your notes, plus the assignments and announcements of a Canvas class. Tick the ones to use.
- Middle: a chat that answers from the sources you ticked and lists the ones it used under each answer, so you can open the note or file it came from.
- Right: make flashcards, a quiz, a study guide, a summary, an infographic or an interactive visualization from the same sources. Your past chats and everything you made stay with the course.
