What Lykke will and won't do.
An assistant that works while you're away has to be trustworthy while you're away. These rules are built into how Lykke works, and each one says how we know.
Lykke never turns anything in for you.
It never submits an assignment, enters a quiz or exam answer, or posts to a discussion. Its Canvas connection only reads.
How we know
The Lykke extension reads Canvas with your own session and only ever asks Canvas for data. Every request that changes something goes to Lykke's servers, never to Canvas. Lykke's servers never sign in to Canvas on their own. The tools ChatGPT or Claude use through Lykke can read your Canvas data but have no way to write to it.
It doesn't schedule anything on its own.
Lykke can only read your Google Calendar. A study block goes on it when you press Save in Google Calendar, and an event a connected AI suggests the same way. Scheduled quizzes and reminders are created only after you say yes — a yes checked by code, not by the AI.
How we know
Lykke asks Google only for read access to your calendar, so it has no way to add an event. Add on a study-block card opens Google Calendar with the block filled in, and it's on your calendar once you press Save there. A connected AI's calendar tool works the same way: it makes that link for you to open. Scheduled quizzes and reminders go through a propose-then-confirm step, and the confirmation is a code check on your own reply, so the AI can't approve on your behalf. One older exception: a note containing the tag #addtocalendar emails a calendar invite to your account email, and to any extra addresses you registered, when it finds a time in the note. Leave the tag out and it doesn't.
Private work goes ahead, then shows up on Today.
Morning prep and courses you asked for are made in the background. A course outline waits for your review until the time on its card, then builds as planned.
How we know
Prep runs at the time you set, and you can pause or clear it on the Prep page. A course outline shows the time it will continue on its own — 15 min after it's drafted — and you can change or approve it before then.
Its AI never sees your Google Calendar.
Lykke reads your events only to show them next to your deadlines, and can't change them. Its plans come from your Canvas deadlines, your notes and your files.
How we know
Our privacy policy (section 5) says Lykke's AI features never receive your Google Calendar data. Lykke keeps a copy of your events only to show them in its calendar. Week plans are built from your Canvas assignments, notes and files. The calendar tool connected AIs use only makes an add-event link; it can't read or change your calendar.
Everything it does is written down.
The activity log and the weekly receipt are counted from records, not written by the AI. If a count can't be loaded, the line is left off.
How we know
Every line on your activity log and receipt is a count of records — builds, prep runs, deliveries, calls — put into a sentence by code. When a count can't be loaded, the line is left off rather than shown as zero; when only part of it loaded, it shows as "12+". Pausing the connected-AI log leaves that line off.
Outside AIs get only what you allow.
ChatGPT, Claude or Cursor connect through a consent screen, and coding tools through a key you create, each with a read-only option. Unless you pause the log, every call is recorded with the reason it gave and kept for 30 days.
How we know
The consent screen lists what an app can read and change and lets you allow reading only; keys for coding tools are created as read-only or full. Unless you pause the log, every call is logged with the app, the tool and the reason it gave; the log keeps 30 days and you can clear it. What ChatGPT or Claude write with what they read is up to them and you — Lykke never hands anything in.
You can see what it touches, and take it back.
Remove a Canvas class or all your Canvas data, disconnect Google Calendar, revoke an AI app, pause a schedule or turn off prep. The list is built from your real connections, including what's shared with your class.
How we know
The Access list on your Activity page is drawn from your real connections — Canvas, Google Calendar, connected AI apps and keys, schedules and prep — with the control for each beside it. It also says what's shared: files and the class list you sync are visible to other Lykke students in that Canvas class, including anyone who audits it.
Your private notes and full chats are never shown to instructors.
Whoever owns a course you read sees your name and email, how far you've read, how many questions you asked and an AI summary of them — never the conversations.
How we know
Your private notes and full chats are not shown to instructors. Whoever owns a course you read can see your name and email, how far you've read, how many questions you asked, and an AI summary of those questions — never the conversations themselves. If you opt in through MCP settings, they can also see an aggregate summary of course topics explored by at least three students through connected assistants, without individual requests or reasons.
Lykke never reads your inbox.
The zero line.
Every weekly receipt ends with five lines that are always 0. Lykke has no way to write to Canvas, and no part of Lykke sends your calendar to an AI — so these can't happen, not just didn't this week:
